Why does Chrome say my SSL certificate “does not have public audit records”?
If you use the Google Chrome browser and examine the technical details of your SSL certificate, you may see a message saying something like:
“The identity of this website has been verified by AlphaSSL CA – SHA256 – G2 but does not have public audit records.”
This is normal. Public audit records are something that a few high-cost, “extended validation” certificates have, but most certificates do not have them.
