Gmail POP Fetcher Discontinued

Gmail used to offer a service called the “POP Fetcher” that “pulled” messages from a mailbox on our servers into your Gmail account. Unfortunately, Google has decided to remove the POP Fetcher “later in 2026”.

Depending on how you originally set up your mail with us, you may need to take steps to ensure that your email still arrives in your Gmail Inbox.

As some background, there were two separate ways to get your to Gmail. One way was the Gmail POP Fetcher, which ran on the Gmail servers and “pulled” mail to Gmail. That’s the thing they’re no longer going to support.

The other way is to forward your mail from our servers to Gmail as it arrives. That “pushes” the messages to Gmail and happens entirely on our end, and it will continue to work properly.

So all you need to do is make sure that your email is set to forward to your Gmail address. You may already have this set up (because it was possible to use both forwarding and the Gmail POP Fetcher). This page explains how to check that, and fix it if not.

Check your Email Options

  1. Login to your Tiger Technologies “My Account” control panel (having trouble?).
  2. Click Email Options.

That will show you a list of mailboxes. If there’s a mailbox being checked by the Gmail POP Fetcher, and that mailbox doesn’t yet have forwarding, you’ll see a message saying This address uses the soon-to-be-removed Gmail POP Fetcher, like this:

Gmail POP Fetcher warning

If you see that, click You should add a forwarding address to make sure new messages still arrive at Gmail to add a forwarding address. You'll see a box like this that you can enter your Gmail address into:

Gmail forwarding box

After you add that and return to the Email Options screen, you shouldn’t see the warning for that mailbox anymore.
