What if I've forgotten the password to an additional FTP account?
Before reading any further in this topic, remember that your default FTP account — the FTP account that connects you directly to your website files directory — always uses your master account password.
If you've forgotten the password for your main FTP account, see the topic that explains how to reset your master account password instead. When you reset your master account password, it resets the password for the default FTP account, too.
Resetting passwords for additional FTP accounts
The rest of this page explains how to reset the password for additional FTP accounts that you have created.
For security reasons, we only store passwords in an encrypted form, so we can't tell you the password. However, you can use the master account password to reset the password for an additional FTP account. To do this:
- Login to the “My Account” control panel using the master account password (having trouble?)
- Click FTP Publishing
- Click Edit next to the chosen FTP account
You will then be able to enter a new password.
