How do I make changes to my domain name?

Our control panel allows you to view and make changes to your domain name settings, including your contact information, DNS nameservers, domain name locking, and transfer authcode.

On this page:

Updating your DNS nameserver settings

Changing the "DNS nameservers" allows you to "point" your domain name at the servers of a different Web hosting company.

If your account with us is a "domain name only" account (that doesn't use our Web hosting service), login and click Manage DNS Nameservers.

If your account with us is a Web hosting account, see our page explaining how to transfer your Web hosting service to another Web hosting company.

Updating your contact information

To update your contact information with us, login and click Billing and Contact Information, then Update Contact Addresses.

Locking or unlocking your domain name

Locking a domain name prevents it from being transferred to another company without your knowledge. To lock or unlock a domain name:

  1. Login to the control panel
  2. If your account is a Web hosting account, click Domain Name Options (this step is not necessary if you don't have Web hosting service with us)
  3. Click Domain Name Locking

(If you're unlocking a domain name because you intend to transfer it, see our pages explaining how to transfer your Web hosting service or domain name to another company.)

Viewing the EPP transfer authorization code

You can also use the control panel to view the EPP transfer authorization code (often called an "authcode") if your domain name requires the code to complete a domain name transfer.

If your account with us is a "domain name only" account (that doesn't use our Web hosting service), login and click Transfer Authorization Code.

If your account with us is a Web hosting account, see our page explaining how to transfer your Web hosting service and domain name to another Web hosting company.
