How do I merge or split domain names between accounts?

You can merge domain names together so they share the same contact, billing and password. This allows you to consolidate your domain names together under a single login account for easier maintenance.

To merge domain names together:

  1. Login to the “My Account” control panel using a domain name that has the password or billing information you want to use for all domain names (having trouble?)
  2. Click Billing and Contact Information (this step is not necessary if you don't have hosting service with us)
  3. Click Merge Domain Names

(By the way, if you add domain names to your account using the “Add Domain Names” link in the control panel, rather than using our home page order form, the domain names will always be grouped together with no merging necessary.)

Splitting domain names

You can also split domain names into multiple accounts, which you would want to do before transferring one (but not all) of your domain names to someone else.

To split domain names into separate accounts:

  1. Login to the “My Account” control panel (having trouble?)
  2. Click Billing and Contact Information (this step is not necessary if you don't have hosting service with us)
  3. Click Split Domain Names

You may also want to give a domain name a new password and remove any credit card on file after splitting it, especially if someone else is going to take over the new account.
