How do I take a "screenshot" and email it to Tiger Technologies?

There may be occasions where we ask you to send us a copy of an error message or another window on your screen. This page explains how to do that.

Taking screenshots on Windows

If you use a Windows computer:

  1. Press the PrtSc key. This key is usually labelled PrtSc, Print Screen and/or SysRq, and is usually located near the upper right corner of your keyboard. (If you are using a laptop computer, you may need to hold down an extra Fn key for PrtSc to work.) Pressing PrtSc copies an image of the screen to the clipboard, even though you won't immediately see anything happen.
  2. Switch to your email program and create a new email message to support@tigertech.net.
  3. Make sure the email message is in HTML format, not plain text.
  4. Click the mouse anywhere in the body of the message (but not in the To, From, or Subject lines).
  5. Paste the screenshot into the message by choosing Paste from the Edit menu.
  6. Finish the text of your email message and send it.

Taking screenshots on Mac OS X

If you use a Macintosh computer:

  1. Press ⌘-Shift-3, also called Command-Shift-3. In other words, hold down the "Command" (⌘) and "Shift" keys together, then press the number "3" along the top row of the keyboard. This will create a new file on your desktop (usually having a name beginning with "Screen Shot").
  2. Switch to your email program and create a new email message to support@tigertech.net.
  3. Add the screen shot file to your message as an attachment.
  4. Finish the text of your email message and send it.
