I'm buying a domain name from someone else at another company. How do I guarantee the exchange goes smoothly?
When buying a domain name from somebody else (especially if it is hosted at another company), you should use a third-party escrow service. These companies make sure that each party receives their money or product by acting as neutral third party until all conditions of the agreement have been fulfilled by both sides.
While we don't provide this service, escrow.com and sedo.com are both companies that our customers have used with success.
Once you have control of the domain name through an escrow company, you can then transfer it normally to our company.
