Can I use a “seal” on my SSL pages?

Some secure websites display a “seal” image. They believe the seal is an extra way of indicating to visitors that the site is secure, although this is debatable and seals are becoming less popular.

If you want one anyway, the paid AlphaSSL certificates that we sell include a clickable security seal that looks like this:

Follow the instructions on this page to place an AlphaSSL seal on your website.

Note that the free Let’s Encrypt certificates we offer don’t include any type of seal. This is intentional on their part: they believe that “seals” are counterproductive because they wrongly encourage visitors to trust graphic images instead of the real SSL display in browser address bars (among other reasons).
