Is Tiger Technologies an ICANN accredited domain name registrar?

ICANN logo

Tiger Technologies has been an ICANN accredited domain name registrar since 2004. We’re not just a reseller for another company.

This means that ICANN, the organization responsible for the Internet and domain names, has found that our company meets their strict technical and financial standards. This gives you an extra level of assurance that you're dealing with a reputable and competent company.

It also means that there’s no “middleman” between our company and the central registries, so we won’t blame problems on anyone else. Few hosting companies have made the extra effort to become accredited registrars; we did so to gain greater control over the domain name process and serve our customers more reliably.

ICANN data escrow program

Tiger Technologies also participates in the ICANN registrar data escrow program.

The escrow program ensures that ICANN always has access to a complete copy of all domain name ownership data, including the full “beneficial registrant data” that’s normally protected by WHOIS privacy.

This means that your rights are always protected, and that you wouldn’t lose your domain name even in the unlikely event we were to go out of business. (You can compare this to Internet horror stories of domain name companies who disappeared and left no record of who really owned the domain names they registered for customers, meaning people lost the domain name completely. That can’t happen with companies that use the data escrow program, as we do.)
